The MEDICINE HAT CANINE ASSOCIATION is an All-Breed kennel club located in Medicine Hat, Alberta (home to the world's largest teepee).
CLUB HISTORY
The MEDICINE HAT CANINE ASSOCIATION (formerly the Saamis Kennel and Obedience Club) was started in 1974 by the founding members of: Mary Ellen Baker, Muriel Skiba, Marion Reid, Tilly Taillifer, Deb Davis and Cheryl Stuber. One of our famous members was a Police Officer, "Louis O'Rily"
The MEDICINE HAT CANINE ASSOCIATION became CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) recognized in 1978.... holding its first licensed dog show in 1981. Since then, we have held licensed shows and trials annually in the month of May.
CLUB OBJECTIVES
* To further the advancement of all breeds of purebred dogs.
* To do all in it's power to protect and advance the interest of all breeds of purebred dogs and to encourage sportsmanlike competition at dog show and obedience trials.
* To conduct sanctioned matches, dog shows and obedience trials under the rules of the Canadian Kennel Club.
